GIWE (1986) is an artist born and based in Moscow. He has been doing graffiti since 2000, he is a member of significant graffiti teams and associations. He preferred mathematical education to the art college; that decision has influenced his creative process. For the past 10 years he has been documenting and analyzing human life in a big city, highlighting and reflecting on common images, trends and phenomena in his works. The results of his observations were first presented in the book Film Flix in 2016, which became the basis of the film Megamix, 2018.
In his works GIWE addresses the themes of standardization of life, individuality, identity, copying and imitation. He works mainly with the use of a common type of decoration of the clothes, bodies and cars – rhinestones. The artist places them on the walls, tapestries and porcelain. He depicts scenes and attributes of modernity, creating bright, fascinating works.
